The teams take the floor: wine tourism

They work together on the wine tourism and events side of the Domaine Canard-Duchêne. Florence Giron (Hospitality & Tours Manager) and Naïs Guyot (Hospitality & Tours Assistant) put all their energy and creativity at the service of the visitors (approximately 6,000 per year). Initiation to sabrage, picnics and visits to the cellars, the Domaine never sleeps under the impulse of these two passionate young women.

Florence Giron,
Hospitality & Tours

After her baccalaureate, Florence spent 5 years in London where she worked at Selfridges and then as a wine waiter at Nicolas to deepen her knowledge of wine. She decided to take a Wine and Spirits Education Trust 2 & 3 diploma which she achieved with honours, and joined Canard-Duchêne in 2018. Florence is in charge of setting up the activities at the Domaine. She studies the local market and adapts the tourist offering to propose unusual activities. In addition to offering cellar visits and tastings, Florence seeks to offer visitors a unique experience in the heart of the vineyard with original well-being activities in the heart of nature: yoga and Pilates classes, an introduction to sabrage with a sabrage diploma, a “Champagne and Cheese” wine and food pairing workshop planned for this autumn, and lunches on the grass in the park in summer. The aim is to make full use of the exceptional location of the Domaine, situated in the heart of the Montagne de Reims in the delightful village of Ludes surrounded by vineyards, a formidable playground for Florence: “I am lucky enough to do a job I love every day in an exceptional setting, living and sharing my passion. A happy customer is without doubt our greatest reward.”.

Naïs Guyot, Hospitality
& Tours Assistant

Naïs Guyot joined Canard-Duchêne directly after her studies 2 years ago. This sunny personality fell into the pot, or rather the champagne flute, a long time ago, after being initiated by a grandfather, a fizz enthusiast. After a BTS specialising in wine and spirits and a degree in wine tourism and gastronomy, Naïs joined the Canard-Duchêne champagne house. Her role is very versatile as she manages the shop, bookings, event management and of course cellar tours. Naïs enjoys this effervescence, juggling from one role to another. What does she like best about her work? Passing on her knowledge to novices, explaining to visitors all the subtleties of champagne making, from the vine to the flute. “For this special year, we had a large number of local visitors and a real enthusiasm from the people of the region who dared to come through the door of the Domaine, which is very positive.” The picnics were also an unprecedented success this year, and the Domaine was able to meet this demand.
