Cellar tour

Canard-Duchêne invites you to explore its’ cellars. Hand carved in the 19th century, they span nearly four miles across four levels, between 40 to 60 feet deep. They provide optimal temperature and humidity conditions for our champagnes to reach maturity, giving a unique taste and complexity.

Accompanied by an experienced guide, come and discover the history of Canard-Duchêne, its cellars and the different stages of the Champagne production process.

The art of sabrage at Canard-Duchêne

Sabrage has always been a house signature and continues to play a role in celebrations of the house today.

Dating back to the Napoleonic era, when the emperor’s footmen, les hussards, celebrated victories by masterfully opening champagne bottles with the back of a sword, sabrage is a symbol of joy and victory. The symbol of the sabre features inside the coat of arms of the imperial Russian court that crowns every bottle of Canard-Duchêne.

Canard-Duchêne invites visitors to learn about and practice the art of sabrage in its centennial park, nestled in the hills of the Montagne de Reims.

By reservation only.
