Cellar tour

Canard-Duchêne invites you to explore its’ cellars. Hand carved in the 19th century, they span nearly four miles across four levels, between 40 to 60 feet deep. They provide optimal temperature and humidity conditions for our champagnes to reach maturity, giving a unique taste and complexity.

Accompanied by an experienced guide, come and discover the history of Canard-Duchêne, its cellars and the different stages of the Champagne production process. A historical and artistic tour exhibiting the stained glass windows of the old chapel renovated by the workshop of master glassmakers Simon-Marq.

Visit Details

All tours provide the same cellar experience, with only the tastings that vary. A minimum of two adults are required for visits.

The entry to the cellars is 130 steps each way and there is no elevator access.

The maximum temperature is 50°F in the cellars.

For those with reduced mobility, a video chronicling the history of Canard-Duchêne and the Champagne-making process is available upon request.

The art of sabrage at Canard-Duchêne

Dating back to the Napoleonic era, when the emperor’s footmen, les hussards, celebrated victories by masterfully opening champagne bottles with the back of a sword, sabrage is a symbol of joy and victory. The symbol of the sabre features inside the coat of arms of the imperial Russian court that crowns every bottle of Canard-Duchêne.

Receptions and Events

The Canard-Duchêne property is situated in a peaceful park with hundred-year-old trees with numerous indoor and outdoor spaces. The park offers an ideal setting for corporate or private occasions. Contact our team to help you plan your event.

Open year-round

We can host meetings for 10 to 60 people, with amenities including equipped meeting rooms (screens, projectors, flipboards), coffee/tea breaks, lunch and/or dinner.

We accomodate events for up to 60 people including a gourmet lunch with wine pairing, lunch buffet, or a cocktail created to your requirements featuring our champagnes upon request.

Enjoy an elegant picnic on the park for groups of 10 to 20 people (weather permitting).

While you’re on-site for meetings, we can help you arrange a cellar tour and tasting. Sabrage demonstrations can also be organized.
