Canard-Duchêne, official Champagne of the Vendée Arctique race

The Vendée Arctique race course is challenging; it exposes the skippers towards the unpredictable elements of nature and forces them to push themselves to their limits. Persistence and commitment, much like in the production of our wines, will be crucial in making it happen. Canard-Duchêne is delighted to be the official Champagne of this cultural and sporting event’s village in Vendée.

THE ARCTIQUE CHALLENGE FOR THE VENDÉE GLOBE

The official start of the Vendée Arctique race will take place on Sunday, June 12th.

25 solo sailors will embark on an extraordinary 10- to 12-day expedition in the first qualifying race for the tenth edition of the Vendée Globe in 2024.

The skippers will set sail from Port Olonna in Les Sables d’Olonne in the direction of the Arctic Circle, rounding Iceland to fulfill their thirst for freedom and adventure. A race covering 3500 nautical miles in icy waters.

Canard-Duchêne is honored to have been the official supplier of the Vendée Globe in 2020, and is still in the running in 2022!

Canard-Duchêne is the official and exclusive champagne supplier for the reception areas. All skippers will be given our magnums upon their arrival and the first three winners a delightful stay at our domain this summer!

The Vendée Arctique’s journey, as well as the Canard Duchêne’s personality, are both built on values such as freedom and escape.

In perfect harmony with the ocean, explorers venture out and glide down the water’s edge. However, keep in mind that nature has its own set of rules, and you’ll need to keep an eye out for icebergs.

Our environmental commitment is no longer limited to our manufacturing processes. It’s a mindset we strive towards, with a persistent pursuit of a delicate balance between pleasing your palate and honoring our great terroir.

As you embark on such a voyage, you must submit to a call for freedom and adventure, as if you were a captain determined to mold time in harmony with nature.

We don’t suggest drinking your champagne at Arctic temperatures, but we do recommend that you enjoy it with the same intensity and delight!
