Champagne Canard-Duchene, Rétrospective 2022

The year 2022 is slowly coming to an end, and the custom is then to take stock of the past months. The Canard-Duchêne House wishes to highlight the most outstanding moments of the year, as much in terms of effervescent actions as in moments of sharing and emotions.

Champagne Canard Duchêne, Reforest

Acting in favour of nature

At the Domain, we wanted to put more meaning into our daily life by deepening our CSR commitment. Beyond the actions we have been implementing for years, we are trying to continue our efforts:

Our partnership with Reforest’Action: We wanted to continue the success of our first year of partnership with Reforest’Action in 2021. Given our close relationship with nature, acting for the forest seemed obvious to us, and wanted to recommit ourselves. It’s a success again with a total of nearly 25,000 trees planted so far, and a goal of 40,000! Find out more about our supported projects.

The release of the limited edition Brut Réserve Trilogy: Since 1868, Canard-Duchêne has been committed to nourishing its link with nature. It is part of the identity of the House and its cuvées. We find and share the meaning in our actions by spreading it to our cuvées. Find a local bird species on each bottle of the collection! An ode to the beauty of biodiversity, and more particularly to the one found in the region’s forests.

Champagne Canard-Duchêne, Cuvée Léonie Brut

Sparkling rewards

Each year, we participate in numerous tastings around the world to highlight the quality of each of our wines. We are happy and proud to share with you a summary of the different medals and scores obtained in 2022. A good indicator to help you make your choice of champagne for your end end-of-cerebrations!

Incontournable Brut: triple Gold medal for this cuvée at the Mundus Vini, Berliner Wein Trophy and Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards.

Léonie Brut: the most emblematic cuvée but also the most rewarded of the House with 3 Gold medals (Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge, Mundus Vini and Berliner Wein Trophy), 2 scores of 91/100 (International Wine Challenge and Champagne Report by Essi Avellan) and 2 stars in the Hachette Guide.

V 2012: the latest addition to the House, it has seduced tasters with 100% of scores above 90 points. It received two 93/100 at the International Wine Challenge and at the Decanter World Wine awards.

V 2010: exceptional wines mean exceptional scores. The best result of the year is for V 2010 with a 95/100 at the International Wine Challenge. The cuvée is also recommended by great names in the world of oenology like Andreas Larson (90/100, Tasted) and Jacques Dupont (17/20, Le Point Magazine).

Charles VII Blanc de Blancs: triple Gold medal also for our 100% Chardonnay cuvée (the International Challenge of Gilbert & Gaillard, the Terre de Vins competition and the Berliner Wein Trophy).

Charles VII Blanc de Noirs: a cuvée with character that won two gold medals at the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge and at the Concours des Vins ELLE à Table.

Charles VII Rosé: ranked among the best rosé champagnes of the year by Essi Avellan, the cuvée obtained 92/100 in her Champagne Report.

P181 Bio: an organic and great cuvée which has nothing to prove anymore! Gold medal at the Mundus Vini contest, 92/100 according to Le Figaro Magazine which places it in its ranking of the 25 best extra-brut champagnes and 16,5/20 by Jacques Dupont (Le Point Magazine).

Champagne Canard-Duchêne, Brunch 2022

The events that marked the year

Free spirits since 1868, the House wished to highlight the return of the good weather by organizing specific events:

Summer festivities: aperitif boards, bike rides, yoga workshop… and above all, the very first brunch at the estate in the heart of our park. The perfect combination of refreshing flavours and sunshine for 100% pleasure. Exclusive? We’re already announcing the return of brunch for Summer 2023!

The nature and poetic exhibition Vign’Art: the Domaine hosted the work “I believe I can fly” by Gleb Dusavitskiy from May to September near its hundred-year-old trees. Many of you took advantage of a stroll through the vineyard to take a picture of these two huge pink wings.

A musical break: for several years, we had the pleasure of hosting a concert during the Flâneries Musicales of Reims. This year, the melodious chords of two pianists (Vanessa Wagner and Wilhem Latchoumia) mingled with the songs of the birds of the Domaine.

A festive box to share: the partnership with Da Rosa Jr has given birth to a delicious food and champagne pairing! A gourmet and delicious marriage between the Léonie Brut cuvée and 4 products with Mediterranean aromas, to be found exclusively in the Parisian boutique of the family grocery restaurant.
