Canard Duchêne La Grande Cuvée Charles VII Blanc de Noirs
The power of Charles VIII Blanc de Noirs finds its fullest expression in the course of a meal, in particular as an accompaniment to lighter meats or freshwater fish.
Created to mark the house's centenary celebration, Canard-Duchène's Grande Cuvée pays homage to King Charles VII, who was led by Joan of Arc to be crowned in the Reims Cathedral in 1429.
From the very beginning, the concept of the Grande Cuvée Charles VII has remained unchanged: a selection from among Champagne's most prestigious crus, a blend of several exceptional vintages that perpetuates the House's distinctive style: Fruity, elegant and versatile.
The Blend
Cuvée Charles VII Blanc de Noirs is blended from a selection of the finest crus of Champagne, using varieties of black grapes exclusively: Pinot Noir (73%) and Pinot Meunier (27%).
Made in the tradition of Charles VII Brut, this wine is distinguished by its power and structure.
Appearance
The tint is yellow tinged with gold, with a fine mousse.
Nose
Intense and complex. Aromas of warm and preserved fruits (mirabelle-plum, peach) give way to spicy notes as the wine is aerated.
Palate
Dominated by structure and substance through its fruity character. This robust wine finishes with a glorious maturity featuring flavours of preserved fruits.
